Deliverance and Healing Requirements

Purpose: Establish guidelines for counselors to handle deliverance cases effectively and in alignment with faith-based principles, ensuring spiritual protection, humility, and vigilance against spiritual attacks.

1. Knowledge Requirements

Counselors must meet the following criteria to effectively minister deliverance and healing:

  • Understanding Principles of Deliverance and Healing:

    • Comprehend the theological foundation of deliverance, emphasizing Jesus’ authority over spiritual bondage (e.g., Luke 10:19, Mark 16:17-18).

    • Recognize the signs of spiritual oppression, generational curses, and strongholds, and address them through faith and prayer.

    • Teach clients the importance of faith, repentance, and humility in receiving blessings and ongoing healing.

  • Certification Requirements:

    • Certification in Spiritual Warfare, including identifying spiritual battles, praying for protection, and ministering deliverance with love and humility.

    • Certification in Physical Healing Ministry, understanding the scriptural foundation for healing (e.g., James 5:14-16) and providing spiritual and emotional support for physical illnesses.

  • Ongoing Education:

    • Counselors must attend regular training sessions and workshops, led by Head Deliverers, focusing on advanced deliverance techniques, scripture study, and spiritual fortification.

  • Awareness of Spiritual Vulnerabilities:

    • Understand that churches can become spiritual battlegrounds where individuals with harmful intentions, such as witches, may seek to attack vulnerable people. Counselors must be equipped to recognize and counteract such threats with discernment and faith.

 

2. Escalation Protocols

Deliverance cases may vary in complexity. The following protocols ensure proper escalation:

  • Recognizing Escalation Points:

    • Escalate cases involving demonic manifestations, unexplained harm, or deep spiritual trauma to a Head Deliverer.

    • Refer cases requiring medical, legal, or specialized care while continuing to provide spiritual support.

  • Intervention by Head Deliverer:

    • The Head Deliverer will oversee complex cases, ensuring they are handled with discernment and spiritual authority.

    • Conduct targeted prayers and deliverance as needed to address unique challenges in specific cases.

  • Emergency Response Protocols:

    • Establish prayer chains for urgent cases.

    • Consult with branch leaders to determine appropriate steps for spiritually sensitive situations.

 

3. Accountability with Branch Leaders

To maintain spiritual integrity and alignment, counselors must regularly report to branch deliverers:

  • Reporting Structure:

    • Submit weekly or bi-weekly reports detailing client progress, breakthroughs, and challenges encountered during sessions.

  • Guidance and Oversight:

    • Schedule regular check-ins with branch leaders for feedback and spiritual alignment.

  • Cleansing and Deliverance for Counselors:

    • The Head Deliverer will conduct periodic cleansing and deliverance sessions for all counselors to:

      • Protect against spiritual attacks and fortify spiritual strength.

      • Prevent unhealthy hierarchies by fostering humility and unity.

      • Use anointing oil as a symbol of consecration and empowerment.

      • Address any spiritual residue counselors may carry from sessions, ensuring their continued effectiveness and well-being.

  • Recognizing Spiritual Threats:

    • Counselors will be trained to identify and counteract spiritual attacks, including those stemming from individuals who may exploit church spaces for harm.

    • Vigilance will be maintained to protect vulnerable clients and counselors from such threats.

 

4. Scripture-Driven Approach

Deliverance sessions must be firmly grounded in God’s Word:

  • Key Scripture Usage:

    • Use relevant verses for healing (Isaiah 53:5), deliverance (John 8:36), and spiritual strength (Ephesians 6:10-18).

  • Personalized Scripture Plans:

    • Provide clients with scripture tailored to their specific challenges, encouraging regular meditation and prayer.

  • Prayer and Worship Integration:

    • Guide clients through prayers of renunciation, faith declarations, and intercession.

    • Encourage worship as a means of inviting the Holy Spirit’s presence and fostering peace and clarity.

 

5. Vigilance and Protection

  • Counteracting Spiritual Intrusions:

    • Counselors will rely on discernment to recognize and address spiritual attacks within church spaces or during sessions.

    • The Head Deliverer will intervene where necessary to protect both counselors and clients.

    • Training will emphasize the importance of spiritual preparedness and active reliance on the Holy Spirit in these scenarios.

  • Equipping the Team:

    • Regular workshops will reinforce counselors’ spiritual armor (Ephesians 6:12-18) and provide tools to safeguard the vulnerable from spiritual harm.

    • Counselors will engage in collective prayer sessions to build unity and mutual support.

By adhering to these guidelines, the counseling division ensures that deliverance and healing are handled with faith, discernment, and alignment to biblical principles, fostering an environment of unity, humility, and spiritual empowerment.
